I lived most of my life in Dubai and ever since I left to study in the Philippines, my life changed drastically.
Airplane
*Sigh* It was a long journey which felt like it took forever to get there. Holding my piss until my balls decided to gave way, I couldn't hold it in longer. Time felt like it just dragged on, all that waiting made me nervous.
Expectations
The last time I remembered when visiting the Philippines as a child, it was all shady and grey. Boring! I thought things would change after a few years went by but no. I had hot wind sprayed all over my place. Seems like they couldn't afford the air conditioning considering that MIA is of the oldest airports and needed a lot of maintenance to keep it in place. Instead they give us giant electric fans which do so little in keeping off the sweat on my face.
I'd grade that airport one red giant "F" and stick in the front covering the name.
People
I have a mixed idea of how the people behave in this country.
First let's start with the assholes.
People here have no idea of courtesy whatsoever. Cutting lines, pushing over like it's a goddamn race.
They rarely apologise to you.
Speaking in English is looked down upon by the majority. I can't believe they study the language in school then treat it like it's for posh people only. I disagree, Philippines is one of the countries that excels in speaking English yet they dismiss the language during conversations. Others butchered it by mixing it with Tagalog whixh sounds off to me and quite confusing. Jejemon-speak is another thing.
Another annoying trait is that they don't mind their own businesses and love to gossip and/or stare.
Roads and it's BFF Traffic
You wouldn't imagine how they treat roads here. First, the roads are small and is rarely maintained and because of that traffic and cutting lanes is commonplace. You that saying about how Asians are bad drivers? It's true. People just drive everywhere, even on the sidewalk. I almost nearly got hit by a car because he was trying to cut to the other lane. Wow, I'm dumbfounded when they actually put sidewalk-driving into practise, shameless bastards.
Weather
The weather here is like a girl PMSing. One day it's a scorching desert, the next few hours it's a flood and a mix of the two. Combine that with the traffic and you'll see what I mean. I don't understand how the people here could ever adapt to this freak weather. It's like it's normal for them.
Transportation
Jeepney can hold a maximum of 20 people. They forcibly fit in 5 more, and another 5 more clutching on the rear.
FX can hold up to 9 people. They put 10. You're lucky if they are no fatties on board.
Trains are always stuffed with people, including buses. It's a given. (Refer to crowded Japanese trains)
Tricycle can hold a maximum of 3 (including the driver), they make it 5.
Women
There is a variety of them here. I would list some but it's too long.
I prefer the ones with white skin. Nuff' said.
Yeah, finally got this out of my chest. I know there is more to write about but these are, I guess, the ones that got my attention the most.
